Financial Aid:
NJ Financial Aid Application Graduation Requirement Under P.L.2023, c.295, to receive a high school diploma, a student in the graduating classes of 2025, 2026, or 2027 must:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application, or
- Be exempted from the requirement in accordance with procedures outlined in the law.

Colleges and career schools use the FAFSA form to determine how much financial aid you're eligible to receive, which could include grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans. Any student, regardless of income, who wants to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs should complete this form. To remain eligible for financial aid, you must apply for aid every year.
Who Should Complete the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application?Complete this application if you live in New Jersey, are not eligible for the FAFSA, and meet all of the following criteria:
- Attended a New Jersey high school for at least three (3) years
- Graduated from a New Jersey high school or received the equivalent of a high school diploma in New Jersey
- Are able to file an affidavit stating that you have filed an application to legalize your immigration status or will file an application as soon you are eligible to do so

The New Jersey Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) is a state-sponsored program that provides financial aid and support services to eligible students from low-income and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds:
- Financial aid: Undergraduate grants range from $200 to $3,050 annually, depending on the institution and financial need. Grants are renewable if the student remains eligible.
- Support services: Includes counseling, tutoring, and developmental coursework.
- Campus-based outreach: Each campus program is responsible for selecting students, recruiting, and providing program services.
